Difference between as and like

What’s the difference between AS and LIKE?

We use AS to talk about the job, function or appearance of a person or a thing.
“We could use this box AS a table”
“I’m going to the party AS a fairy”

We use LIKE in comparisons to mean “similar to”.
“I look LIKE my mom in this photo.
“Stop behaving LIKE animals!”
