Numbers are a presence in the daily life of all people! When we go shopping, when we give our phone number, when we give our address, it’s inevitable! If you live in Portugal, you will have to learn the numbers in Portuguese! The numbers between 100 and 900 are especially challenging for most Portuguese language students. What’s the solution? Practice and repetition, practice and repetition!
PRO TIP: The number 100 in Portuguese is called “CEM.” But for numbers between 101 and 199, it’s said as “CENTO e um” (101), “CENTO e dois” (102), “CENTO e três” (103)… The number 500 (“quinhentos“) is often particularly difficult to memorize.
