On the first day of the A1 level Portuguese course, I extensively explain to the students that not all the information they will learn needs to be memorized. In fact, I believe that one of the most important functions of a Portuguese teacher is to guide the students and let them know which structures are essential and which structures will be learned over time and through exposure to the language.
Now is the time to emphasize the importance of students learning and memorizing the meaning of everyday verbs. The majority of these verbs are regular. If students are comfortable with these conjugations, it will be easy to start creating some short sentences in Portuguese. The challenge of this list is the memorization of the meaning of each verb you will find on this list.
PRO TIP: If the name of this list is “Daily verbs”,” it’s because we use these verbs… Every day! It is not possible to start speaking Portuguese with some fluency without knowing these verbs well!
