A good option for those who like to learn at their own pace!
Our teaching-learning strategy remains the same in individual Portuguese lessons. This means that, whenever possible, we engage in conversational activities.
LEVEL A1: When students start at the beginner level, it is important to teach the basics of the Portuguese language. Students who start at this level (A1) should expect essentially grammar-focused lessons, especially during the first phase of level A1 (A1.1). Without teaching the foundations of the language, it is not possible for students to start having successful conversations in Portuguese.
LEVEL A2 AND HIGHER LEVELS: From level A2, our lessons are essentially directed conversation. This means that our teachers prepare activities where students have the opportunity to use the Portuguese language with the grammar concepts learned during level A1. From level A2, grammatical progression is done at home (by the students) under the guidance of the teacher. During the lessons, in addition to conversing (80 to 90% of the time), the teacher will also clarify any doubts the student has regarding the grammar concepts studied at home. Grammatical progression is done at the teacher’s discretion. That is, if the teacher feels that the student is comfortable (comfortable does not mean perfect) with the concepts taught to date, they will ask the student to complete a new grammar chapter at home.
