Personal pronouns in Portuguese are important and it is one of those topics that all students must know perfectly. They are divided into singular personal pronouns “eu, tu, ele, ela, and você” and plural personal pronouns “nós, eles, elas, and vocês”. It is important to note that the plural personal pronoun “vós” has not been used for many years. Although some books and websites still have the conjugation of this pronoun, Portuguese students should not worry about this conjugation because no one uses it anymore.

PRO TIP: Regarding pronunciation, the pronouns that usually create the most problems for students are “eu” (I), “ele” (he), and “ela” (she). When practicing this topic, listen carefully to the pronunciation of these pronouns and write in your native language the sound you can hear. By doing so, you will be able to pronounce the personal pronouns in Portuguese properly.
